Philosophy

I am committed to ensuring that all students have equitable access to the resources and opportunities needed to succeed, regardless of any situation or circumstance. Second, but equally as important, is my commitment to create an environment for teachers that fosters a culture of collaboration, diversity and inclusion with ongoing professional development, data-based decision making, targeted support for teachers and equitable access to resources and decision-making. I hope to inspire others while continuously striving for excellence.

Lifelong Learning and Collaboration

Modeling the practice of professional and personal growth inspires and challenges others to improve. As a future leader, I will model best practices and adapt them to meet current needs in education. I will encourage teamwork, shared decision-making, and collaborative learning opportunities to ensure that teachers collectively feel valued and supported.

Advocacy and Equity

Advocating and implementing school equity is central to my leadership philosophy. Every student and teacher must have access to resources and opportunities that support their unique needs. I plan to create a school environment where teachers feel empowered to innovate and grow in their instructional practices, provide students with equitable opportunities, ensure families and stakeholders are active participants in the school community and all decision-making is fair and inclusive.

Inequity and Current Issues in Education

As public leaders, school administrators must be attuned to their current cultural environment and how it is changing. In the United States, achievement gaps are mostly defined by economic, gender, and racial divides. To address this issue, school leaders must be able to recognize bias in all forms. I will use my teaching experience and knowledge of organizational leadership theories to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment that prioritizes student success, teacher efficacy, and community engagement. My leadership platform will evolve as education and culture evolves, but it will always be centered around equitable student and teacher success.
